The first “Silent Hill” was only 10-12 hours long but kept you on edge from start to finish!
The zombie dogs and birds from the original “Silent Hill” were a pain in the ass but fighting them was always exciting! And third, the game is pretty long, which certainly isn’t a bad thing at all but some parts are a bit boring. Second, there is only a handful of different enemies to fight and even though all of them look me nacing, most of them aren’t particularly dangerous or aggressive and they soon stop being scary. Several questions remain unanswered, too many things are never explained, no matter how many times you finish the game and how many alternate endings you see (there are 6 different endings). At the end of the game you only get the “big picture”, a general understanding of what happened. However, contrary to what most “Silent Hill” fans claim, I wouldn’t say that it’s the best game in the series (my personal favourite is “Silent Hill 3”).įirst and foremost, the plot is full of allegories and hard to figure out. Yes, SH2 is an excellent game and a true classic of the survival-horror genre. There are dozens of in-depth reviews about “Silent Hill 2” on the Internet and I agree with most of them. Excellent game but not the best in the “Silent Hill” series.
